Atlanta Press Club - Four local journalists were inducted this month into the APC's Hall of Fame: Lino Dominguez (founder of Mundo Hispanico); WSB-TV's first black anchor Jocelyn Dorsey; the Weather Channel's incomparable Jim Cantore; and the late AJC columnist Lewis Grizzard.

Georgia Radio Hall of Fame - Congrats to new inductees Sabrina Cupit and Bob Coxe from WSB Radio. The AJC's Rodney Ho reports other Atlanta-connected inductees included "radio consultant Dwight Douglas, former Fox 97.1 marketing and promotions manager Tim Johnson, and Ron Parker, a former air personality for 790/WQXI-AM (the Quixie in Dixie)." PRSA Georgia - In addition to all the awards this month for great PR programs produced in Georgia (Leff & Associates won for work for MomoCon and Serta Simmons Bedding! #TootingOwnHorn), the chapter gave out a few other awards at its annual dinner:

Congrats to writer Haisten Willis on the birth of his new baby girl!

We note this week the passing of Bob Bailey formerly of 96Rock and Z93. He died after a fight with cancer.

Atlanta Journal-Constitution

  • Courtney Kueppers joins from WABE as a Digital Content Producer.

  • Tia Mitchell will be moving to DC to work at the paper's national correspondent.

  • Tamar Hallerman, the paper's DC-based national correspondent, will move to Atlanta to take on a reporting role here.

  • The paper has launched a new investigative series, "Unprotected," looking at issues in Georgia's senior care industry.

Atlanta Tribune - Katrice Mines departs for a position as Director of Communications at the Globe Academy. We're working on identifying her replacement.

(The) Bert Show - Thanks to Bert and his team for showcasing our friend and former Boys & Girls Clubs of America client, Brian Hill. This week was the 10th anniversary of the passing of Brian's wife, Jennifer, and and he wrote a song in her honor.

Bloomberg News - Anita Sharpe is now editor for a team called the "Real Economy" initiative, looking at how economic conditions are impacting people in the real world. Reporter Mike Sasso will be working on that team as well.

Covington News - Managing Editor Jackie Gutknecht departs. She'll be working in a communications position at Emory University's Oxford campus.

Fenuxe - Brian Sawyer is now the publisher.

Georgia Hollywood Review - A new magazine launched officially this month with an event at the Plaza Theatre. Congrats to publisher Miles Neiman on the new magazine. The first issue features a cover story with Ozzie Areu and Kim Leadford with Areu Brothers Studios, and feature stories on producer Deb Draper, Mark Wofford from PC&E on their community contributions, a conversation with child actor Marco Schittone, the latest on the GA Studio Infrastructure Alliance, a look at locally shot film "Full Count," and more!

  • If you've been around town for a bit, you'll remember Miles' Piedmont Review magazine.

  • Also, he's launched Georgia Hollywood Review TV, hosted by Nadia Bilchik.

Georgia News Network - Mark Woolsey retires and Rob Stadler joins as afternoon anchor.

Hypepotamus - Holly Beilin departs for a position with Engage, an Atlanta-based enterprise venture platform. The new editor is Chanel Lee, who joins with a background that includes HowStuffWorks and Crain’s Atlanta bureau.

Luxe Magazine - Kate Abney is now the Southeast Homes Editor.

Newnan-Coweta Magazine - Jackie Kennedy is now editor.

Oz magazine - A few shifts at the magazine as founder Tia Powell takes on a larger editorial role. Managing Editor Nicole Sage departs and Brooke Sonnenreich takes on that role.

Southbound - The magazine won a bronze Lowell Thomas Award, what editor Allison Entrekin describes as "an Oscar in the travel journalism world" and she won bronze for a feature on Apalachicola's dying oyster industry in the environmental tourism category.

  • We've added reporter Helena de Moura to our database!

  • Former reporter Elly Yu has joined Southern California Public Radio

WAGA/Fox5

  • Suzanne Gunn - New Executive Producer

WGCL/CBS46

  • Fred Campagna joins as Morning Meteorologist. He's joining us from Rhode Island, so he's going to experience a slightly different winter than what he's used to!

WSB TV

  • Justin Gray returns from DC to take an investigative reporter position.

  • Congrats to Jennifer Grove, who was selected this month as one of the Atlanta Business Chronicle's "40 Under 40."

  • Congrats to Nicole Carr on the arrival of a new baby boy!

WXIA/11Alive

  • The A Scene held their second annual "A Scene Awards" on Oct. 21. We had a great time with our Georgia Entertainment PR Alliance colleagues hanging out in the green room (with animal performers, Walking Dead "look likes," Atlanta actors, and more.   • Maria Martin joins as sports anchor/reporter on the weekends. She was most recently with WSFA TV in Montgomery, AL.
