Atlanta Jewish Times - Associate Editor David Cohen departs. He's now editor of Northeast Real Estate Business, a France Publications magazine.

  • The "Doing Good" feature is back! Devika Rao returns to the AJC with her weekly stories, now moving to the Sunday paper.

  • Opinion page writer Kyle Wingfield departs after nine years at the paper. He'll be taking a position as head of the Georgia Public Policy Foundation, which he describes as "a think tank dedicated to free markets and limited government."

Fayette Life and Biz - Mark Maguire has launched a new magazine focused on ... Fayette County! Check it out at www.fayettelifeandbiz.com.

GPB Radio

  • Virginia Prescott will join the network as host of the On Second Thought show. She replaces the departed Celeste Headlee.

  • Tanya Ott departs.

  • Sara Shahriari will be joining as Managing Editor.She was most recently assistant news director at KBIA-FM in Columbia, MO, where she was also a professor at the University of Missouri School of Journalism.   • Keith Farner has departed.

  • Trevor McNaboe is now covering education.

WABE - The station has launched a new podcast series, "Buried Truths."

WGCL TV/CBS46

  • Shon Gables joins as morning anchor and reporter. She joins from KTBS-TV in Shrevesport, LA and has worked in Dallas/Fort Worth, New York City and for the Black Enterprise Business Report.

  • Former GM Mark Pimentel is now GM at the ABC/Telemundo station in Colorado Springs.

  • Shawn Reynolds has left the station and is now with Accuweather.

WSB TV

  • Christian Jennings joins the station as general assignment reporter. She joins from WPMI-TV in Mobile, AL. She also worked at WGNO in New Orleans and WALB in Albany, GA.

WXIA TV

  • Congrats to reporter Matt Pearl! He's NPPA’s 2017 National Solo Video Journalist of the Year.This is an award against some of the top journalists in the country, all of whom – like me – shoot and edit their own reports. It rewards consistency and high-quality storytelling all year long, and I take pride in finding powerful stories and crafting them with the camera.

  • Brennan Donnellan, former 11Alive Olympic Producer, and most recently News Director at WKYC in Cleveland, has announced he's leaving the station. He said in a totally non-exclusive post on his Facebook page that he's going to be working on "passion projects in long form storytelling and digital media."

  • Jerry Carnes has a new role at the station. After years as the "Commuter Dude" he's not the "Why Guy." He says "We are focusing our efforts on answering your "why?" questions. The news often leaves you with lingering questions of "why?" Send them my way! If you see something and you're curious as to why it's happening, ask! I'll be happy to dig into it!
