Rome News Tribune - The paper is looking for an Executive Editor. This is a hands-on position where the editor is responsible for the day-to-day operation of a seven-member newsroom. The editor works with staff to plan, produce and edit the news, sports and feature content of the paper and a quarterly magazine. Duties include reporting, writing, taking photos, assigning stories and overseeing the posting of content online and on social media. The Executive Editor is responsible for office operations, fields and mediates calls from the public, meets with politicians and various community members and handles personnel issues. Parent company Times-Journal, Inc. is a family-owned business, operating 18 newspapers, plus magazines and digital news products in central and north Georgia.
