Atlanta Press Club - The APC has appointed Mike Jordan and Chairperson of the Board of Directors and Eric Ludgood as Treasurer for the 2025 - 26 term. Details here.


PRSA Georgia had a great panel this month on "How to build and execute multimedia strategies." Panelists included Mitch Leff from Leff & Associates, host of the "4 Questions Journalist Spotlight" podcast; Tyrik Wynn with IHeartRadio, and DeMarquis Cobb with the Goizueta Business School.


Society of Professional Journalists - The Georgia Chapter is holding a Media Literacy Panel on Feb. 22, 9a, at WSB TV. It'll cover everything from identifying misinformation and disinformation as well as understanding media bias and framing to promote digital literacy and privacy awareness. Panelists: Janel Davis, Managing Editor, AJC; Larry Johnson, Cobb County Courier; Sophia Qureshi, Editor, 285 South; Jonathan O'Brien, WSB Radio. Atlanta Business Chronicle

  • Dean Anason has been named Editor in Chief. Anason joined the Chronicle as managing editor in May 2024. From the Chronicle: "His hiring last year was a full circle return to the publication where his career began. In between, Anason covered banking policy on Capitol Hill; served as Washington, D.C., bureau chief and managing editor of American Banker; and was an assistant business editor at the Atlanta Journal-Constitution.

  • The Chronicle has launched a new bi-monthly podcast, Georgia Business Minds. Each episode will provide a closer look at current news events and business trends affecting our readers' bottom line - from agriculture to aviation and technology to trade. The first episode, featuring the Chronicle's Crystal Edmonson interviewing Geoff Koski of KB Advisory Group, as they discuss the future of downtowns, is live now.

Georgia Public Broadcasting - The AJC's Rodney Ho reports that GPB's Jeff Hullinger will be hosting a new show, "Georgia Legends." it's a six-episode series. Details here.


Gwinnett Forum - Publisher Elliott Brack has been honored by Gwinnett County with induction into its Preservation Hall of Fame. He was honored for his commitment to preserve cultural and historic resources. His name will be commemorated with markers on a stone monument on the Preservation Lawn at the Isaac Adair House and the Female Seminar in Lawrenceville.

WANF TV / Atlanta News First - Meteorologist Courteney Jacobazzi moves to weekday mornings


WUPA TV / Atlanta 69 - Effective Feb. 13, the station has ended it's 8p newscast. The info is from reporter Valencia Jones, who posted on her Facebook page.


WXIA / 11Alive

  • Dan Kenney joins as weekend anchor / reporter. He was most recently with WVEC TV in Norfolk, Va.

  • Tresia Bowles has left the station

  • Angelina Salcedo is now a Weekend Anchor/Reporter

  • The station has launched a new series, "Better Works," airing every other Friday and focusing on hot job opportunities in Atlanta. Here's a recent example.

  • Check out their new live streaming show, "The Take," weekdays at 9 a.m. It's hosted by Chesley McNeil. Some background from producer Jesse Horne:

    • "Our mission is to connect with journalists, meteorologists, newsmakers, and experts to delve into their unique perspectives on the news of the day, whether national or local. Each episode will spotlight the big story while fostering an in-depth understanding of the "how" and "why" behind the headlines. By focusing on casual, conversational interactions, we aim to create a platform where both expert insights and viewer questions are central to the narrative.

    • "One week down with “The Take” and the early numbers are looking strong! One of the tweaks we’re trying to hammer out is finding topics to touch on where there are multiple ways to look at it.
