  • Jennifer Brett has a new job at the paper. She's now Senior Editor/Crime & Public Safety.

Champion - Jay Phillips joins as sports editor.

Covington News - Darryl Welch is now the Managing Editor.

Georgia News Network - GNN marks its 40th anniversary this year! More details to come on how it'll mark the occasion.

Jewish Georgian - Marvin Botnick, publisher, has died. Bill Banks writes in the AJC that Botnick was "an investor, philopopher, raconteur, financial consultant, President of The Temple, and for the last 28 years, publisher of the Jewish Georgian newspaper. Read more at

GPB Radio - A change from what reported last month about the "On Second Thought" show. The schedule will now be: A new show on Fridays at 11 a.m. with reairings on Saturday at 7 a.m. and Sunday at 11 a.m. Congrats to Emilia Brock, who's been named Supervising Producer for the show.

Southeast Green - This environmental-focused online site has ceased publication. Publisher Beth Bond announced the closing in a recent email.

Telemundo - Jorge Buzo departs for North Carolina, WUVC Univision 40.


  • Scott Woefle joins as the station's first Chief Content Officer. He'll be working on their digital properties "to create new content strategies to further expand" their reach and relations with Atlanta's diverse communities.

  • Mara's Music Mix goes on indefinite hiatus to make room for more political news. C'mon WABE, we don't have enough political news? #BringMaraBack!

  • Courtney Bryant joins as co-host of the station's 10 p.m. newscast. She's paired with Russ Spencer.

WAOK - Rashad Richie joins as morning host.

  • As Ashley Frasca takes the reins of the stations long-running garden show from the retiring Walter Reeves, it gets a new name: "Green and Growing with Ashley Frasca."

  • Director of Branding and Programming Pete Spriggs retires on Feb. 28 after almost 20 years with the station. Drew Andersson takes over his role.

WXIA-TV / 11Alive

  • We've added morning producer Kaitlyn Winey to our database.

  • Maura Sirianni joins as general assignment reporter. She was previously with KWRN-TV in Nashville.

  • Congrats to Chesley McNeil received a leadership award from the Cobb Ministerial Alliance.
