Atlanta INTown - The paper hits 25 years old this year! Editor Collin Kelley says they'll be launching some new podcasts in 2019, focused on arts, food, culture, real estate and sustainability.

  • Reporter Becca Godwin departs. No word yet on what she got happening next.

  • Nicole Smith is now Senior Editor of Digital Content. She manages things to do, events/festivals, entertainment/music, arts ... and the breaking news team.

Atlanta Press Club

  • Dawn Lasusky departs. She'd been the president. 2019 APC Chair Marylynn Ryan (CNN) says there's a search on for a new president. Lasusky has been with the APC for a year.

  • The APC is now accepting nominations for the 2018 Awards of Excellence. Link:

Court TV - Bill Dobilas joins the network as producer. Bill has been a producer for CNN and HLN for many years and worked previously at WAGA. Former WXIA anchor Vinnie Politan will be an anchor there when the network relaunches in May 2019. Vinnie worked at HLN before joining WXIA.

Equally Wed - Editor Kirsten Ott Palladino has been named to Atlanta magazine's Editorial Advisory Board.

Georgia Public Radio

  • Emilia Brock joins at producer on the "On Second Thought" show. She was previously a producer for Rose Scott's "Closer Look" show on WABE.

  • New segment in partnership with Emory Brain Health Center, "Your Fantastic Mind," kicks off Jan. 28. It'll cover innovative research and clinical advances in the areas of neurology, neurosurgery, psychiatry, sleep medicine and rehabilitation medicine. Here's a short promo:

Georgia Voice - Patrick Colson is the new editor.

680 The Fan - If you haven't already, check out the "Mind Your Business" podcast with Phil Hudson and Tug Howard. It's focused on sports, music and money.

  • Asia Simone Burns joins as producer for "All Things Considered" in the afternoons.


  • Former anchor Gloria Neal is now Director of Public Affairs for the Mayor's office in Denver.

  • Check out this fundraising comedy show that Adam Murphy is working on for his "Miracle for Mom" foundation. It's Jan. 18 at The Vista Room. Details:

  • Dante Renzulli departs the station. According to his Twitter profile, he's no longer in TV news. Not sure what he's up to next.


  • Rachel Lebedin has been promoted to Managing Editor.

  • Eboni Deon joins as weekend meteorologist.

  • Nefertiti Jaquez has left the station.

WVEE/WAOK - Joyce Littel is the new News Director, replacing the recently retired Jean Ross.


  • Francesca Amiker was named "Employee of the Year" at the station. Congrats to Fran!

  • Former education reporter Donna Lowry will be working for GPB's Lawmakers show during the 2019 legislative session. More details:

  • Atlanta PR professional Lynn Duran passed away this month. We worked with Lynn at Cohn & Wolfe and then GCI Group many years ago. Our thoughts are with her family.

  • Nora DePalma has launched a new agency, Dialogue. She describes the agency as "a new engagement strategy agency for companies who are on a mission to help people live beautifully, mindfully and sustainably." Some familiar faces join the team, including Lisa Lilienthal, Naomi Salad, Alexia Cargal, Jen Datka, and Jim Datka.

  • Mark Maquire has departed from Car Biz Today and is now working with the Peachtree City Convention and Visitors Bureau. You'll remember Mark from his time with the Cobb Business Journal. He's also an author with several book published recently under the "Alexandria Rising" title.
