Kaitlyn Ross will soon be launching a new 11Alive social media project focused on "advocacy, love and justice for our furry friends." You'll be able to find it on the station's YouTube channel and then on Facebook at "K9kait" and "reporterkait" on Instagram and, of course, all of the station's social channels.
After 21 years with WXIA-TV/11Alive, and more than 26 years in television news overall, reporter Jennifer Leslie Boettcher today (Nov. 13th) announced her departure from the station.
In December, she’ll become the Director of Communications for the City of Dunwoody.
Jennifer joined 11Alive in 1988. Before that she worked at WPTV in West Palm Beach, WBIR in Knoxville, and KJAC in Port Arthur/Beaumont, TX. She’s won six Southern Regional Emmy Awards, been honored by the Tennessee AP Broadcasters Association and the Press Club of Southeast Texas.
A number of community organizations count her as a volunteer, including the Atlanta Food Bank, Action Ministries and Breakthru House. She is a member of Dunwoody United Methodist Church.

Is you missed the station's recent series on pregnancy, "Mothers Matter," check it out at https://www.11alive.com/mothersmatter. Synopsis: Mothers are dying from childbirth. It’s getting worse in the United States while it gets better in other countries. The statistics are alarming, especially for black women. According to the Centers for Disease Control, black moms are three to four times more at risk of dying from pregnancy-related causes. For every 13 white women who die during pregnancy or within one year of giving birth, there are 44 black women.
